Home Decor Project

Hello all, hope everyone is having a great weekend. It is supposed to be cold and raining in Arizona this weekend, but so far we have lucked out because the rain hasn't started!

I have been working on this home decor project for the last week. I made it for my husband who is retired Air Force. The wood cutouts are from Kaisercraft and the paper is from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby). I glued all the paper on with Mod Podge and them coated it again after I put it all together. I also used Distress Inks on the edges. I think it turned out pretty good and my husband loves it!Here is another picture close-up.
Let me know what you think. I haven't made too many home decor projects, but I think that now I just may try more!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Bows, Bows, Bows!!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted in the last week. I have been trying to organize my craftroom and work on a home dec project (which I am not sure how it will turn out).

Yesterday, while blog hopping, I came across a video for making your own bows for packages. I tried it and WOW, it is pretty easy!!! I made one with 2-sided paper (brown one) and the other 2 were made with some wrapping paper that I had in the house. How easy will it be to make a matching bow for a present now that I know how to do it! And the whole bow is from a 6"x12" piece of paper. and you use the entire piece, no waste! I think the red and white one is my favorite.

If you would like to know how to make one for yourself, just let me know and I will forward you the instructions. Have a great day!

Old-fashioned Valentine

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to show you the old fashioned Valentine that I made for my husband. He is always telling me that he is an old fashioned kind of guy so I thought what better type of Valentine to make for him but that. I found the retro paper at Hobby Lobby and the cupid cut is from the Cricut Sweethearts cartridge. I then inked all the edges to give it another dimension. I added some ribbon and the stamp is from My Pink Stamper. Since I wasn't mailing this card, I also decorated the envelope.

Let me know what you think. Have a great weekend!

Valentine's Card

Well, my Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl!!! Can you believe it??!! It took me a couple of days to come down from that. Now I am shopping for Champion T-shirts, etc online since Arizona stores choose not to carry anything else but Cardinal stuff. Oh well, the Packers won!!

On to Valentine's Day. Here is a card I made yesterday. I saw one similar on one of the blogs that I regularly visit, but I had the lips background paper and thought it went with the Lips cutout from the Cricut Indie Art cartridge. I then used Stickles to bling it out.

Tomorrow, I will have another, more vintage looking Valentine to share with you. Have a great day!

Super Bowl Decorations

Hi Everyone!
I am gearing up for the Super Bowl party that will be at my house on Sunday. However, it has been very difficult here in Arizona to find anything Green Bay Packers. I had to order a new Jersey (have #4 Brett Favre, but now need #12 Aaron Rodgers instead) online since none of the local sports stores were going to get any in. Unfortunately, I will not get the jersey until Monday. Guess I better doctor up my Favre jersey to show Rodgers!! The party store JUST got in the napkins and plates the day before yesterday. No other decorations, just table stuff. So, I decided I needed to make my own. I still have more to make, but wanted to show you what I have gotten done so far.

First, I have a candy dish. Thanks to Kinderstampo for the inspiration. She did a video for a much smaller one. I started with a 12x12 sheet of craft paper and went from there.
I made this banner using the Country Life Cricut cartridge. I used some Packer stamps that I got from Peachy Keen Stamps. They now have some new ones out so I guess I will have to order those too.
I just finished decorating some Hershey Nugget candy bars. I found a logo online and then reshaped it a bit into a circle (instead of an oval) since I didn't have an oval punch.
Let me know what you think or if you have any other ideas for more decorations for my party! Go Packers!!!
