This week at Paper Vineyard

Hi All, hope everyone is having a great week so far.

This week, our challenge was "Shimmer and Shake". Make something that had movable parts and that shimmered or was glittered. Here is the card I came up with!

I cut the flowers using my Cricut and the Mothers Day Bouquet cartridge. I used a skewer to curl the edges of the flowers under and then rolled something rounded (I have since bought a tool that is actually used for working with modeling clay) in the center to make the flowers actually stand up. I didn't have any dark colored brads, so I took one of the big green ones that I found in my stash, colored it black with my black sharpie marker, and glittered it with Stickles. All the paper, except for the craft card stock that I used for the card base and the tags, was left over from a class that I attended at Paper Vineyard a while back.

Both of the flowers are attached to tags, that when pulled out, have "friend" related rub-ons that I also had in my stash of goodies!

Hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

Paper Vineyard Cards, cards cards!!

This week, we were challenged to make cards using any Paper Vineyard products, any theme we wanted. I had gotten a sheet of paper from Scrap within reach (double sided) and decided to utilize both sides of the paper. I had a rub on from Kaisercraft of a camera and gotten the idea to make a card for someone who would be traveling. I was inspired by my Mom, who will be taking a Panama Canal cruise in September. Can you say JEALOUS!!!

Here is the inside.

And can you believe it.......I didn't use the Cricut on this one!!
I know, I can't believe it either!!

Hope you like it. Let me know what you think. Have a great week.

Paper Vineyard Card

This week, Paper Vineyard is celebrating the addition of a separate card area in the store. So our project for the week was to use any Paper Vineyard products, it just had to be a card! Here is what I came up with. The card base and layer paper are both from Bazzill. The large ice cream cone was cut from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge. The other cones were from SEI borders called Fair Day. The line the top and bottom of the inside of the card, and I cut them apart for the outside. The stripes on the candle of the large cone is glitter paper, but I couldn't get my camera to pick that up. The inside is stamped with "You're so sweet!"

Let me know what you think! Have a good week.

Paper Vinyard DT - Alcohol Inks

Hello everyone,

This weeks "assignment" was to work with Alcohol Inks. To tell you the truth, this is one thing that I have never tried before. It is pretty cool but I have a lot more to learn about using them. We were supposed to make a altered/distressed item using the inks, but I didn't have anything that I could alter/distress. So I went to what I know best, making a card using them. The recipe for this card is:
Cardstock - Joanns
White Gloss Paper - Inkssentials
Alcohol Inks - Tim Holtz Adirondack Inks in Sail Boat Blue and Citrus
Flowers - Prima sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist
Brads - from my stash
"Thank you" stamp - from the $1 bin at Michaels

Remember, this is my first try with the inks so keep checking back, because I KNOW I will be making more projects using them! Thank you for visiting my blog and don't forget to check out the Paper Vineyard blog to see the projects from the rest of the team.

Have a great week!

Valentine's Card

Well, my Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl!!! Can you believe it??!! It took me a couple of days to come down from that. Now I am shopping for Champion T-shirts, etc online since Arizona stores choose not to carry anything else but Cardinal stuff. Oh well, the Packers won!!

On to Valentine's Day. Here is a card I made yesterday. I saw one similar on one of the blogs that I regularly visit, but I had the lips background paper and thought it went with the Lips cutout from the Cricut Indie Art cartridge. I then used Stickles to bling it out.

Tomorrow, I will have another, more vintage looking Valentine to share with you. Have a great day!

Valentine's cards

Here are a few Valentine's cards that I made last weekend when I got together with the girls for a Scrap Day. We get together once a month and we rotate who hosts the crop. Thanks Linda for hosting this month! I had a great time.

Anyway, I made a few cards. Very simple Valentine's cards. On the last one, I wanted to use some new animal print paper that I bought. I found "Wild Thing" on one of the Cricut cartridges. I didn't like how "blocky" it looked so I set it up in my Gypsy and took off the aspect ratio and made the cut taller that it was supposed to be but as long as I needed it. I am learning more and more on the Gypsy and friends are asking me to teach them what I know about it. Who knew!!

Hope you enjoy the cards. I will have an exciting announcement next week. Stay tuned!!
Have a great weekend!

Flaunt It Fridays #6 - Hello Kitty Greetings Airplane

Here is my entry for the Flaunt It Fridays #6 using the Hello Kitty Greetings with Airplane from page 65 of the handbook. I decided to make it a vacation card (kind of like a Bon Voyage card but for a plane trip instead of a cruise).

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Snow!!

I know that Arizona doesn't get alot of snow, but we do get some up in the northern part of the state. Having grown up in Wisconsin, I know what snow is (and what you have to do in order to live in it and drive in it!), and I prefer to live in Sunny Arizona and go up North to visit the snow, play in it and come back home to temperatures in the 60s and 70s!

Anyway, I made this "Snow" card and am entering it in to the following challenges:

Made By Momo - Snow/Winter theme

Paper Cutz Challenge - Using metal (brads, eyelets, wire)

My Sheri Crafts - Winter

Hope you like the card. Let me know what you think.

Happy Tuesday!!

Paper Cutz Challenge #72

Here is my entry for Paper Cutz Challenge #72. For this challenge, make a card, LO or craft project for New Year's using a banner and any colors you'd like. This was kind of new to me as I have never tried to use a banner on a card before. I think it turned out okay! Let me know what you think.

The banner and "celebrate" are from the Martha Stewart All Occasions Cake art cartridge and the printed paper is from the DCWV Hippie Chic Matstack. Black paper is from Joann's. Then I just faux stitched the edges with a glitter pen.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Christmas Card 2010

Here is my Christmas card that I sent out to family and friends. I had a great time making them, all 63 of them! Took me a few days to finish them all, but I got them done and out in the mail the day after Thanksgiving. I think that is the first time I have ever gotten my cards mailed out that early. I used Very Merry Tags for the tree. Hope you like it.

Thanks for looking. Have a Very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year!
